Taiwanese scrap import prices up again on stronger international market

Import prices for containerized HMS-grade scrap in Taiwan have strengthened further on the back of a strengthening global market for the steelmaking raw material and continued tightness in spot supply.

Sources said renewed strength in the spot prices for ferrous scrap in several key markets was one of the reasons behind the consistent increases of late. Traders had raised their offers continually throughout the week on firm demand from downstream steel mills.
