TURKEY LONG STEEL: Rebar prices go up in lira, stable in dollars

The Turkish domestic long steel market continued to be influenced by the weakening of the local currency in the week ended Thursday November 2, with prices for rebar going up in Turkish lira while the US dollar equivalent remained largely stable.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly price assessment on Thursday for domestic rebar in Turkey was $515-530 per tonne ex-works, against $520-530 per tonne ex-works last week. In the Istanbul region, rebar prices in lira went up by TRY20-30 per tonne week-on-week, to TRY2,380-2,420 ($625-635) per tonne ex-works, including 18% VAT.
