Southeast Asia billet prices dip again as demand lull continues

Steel billet import prices in Southeast Asia dipped again in the week leading up to Monday November 6 as demand from buyers fell because of weaker ferrous product prices in China.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly price assessment for billet imports in Southeast Asia was $498-510 per tonne cfr on November 6, down by $5-10 per tonne from $508-515 per tonne cfr in the previous week. Market sources said that mill cargoes from Russia and India were being offered at $510-515 per tonne cfr into Southeast Asia, with bids from end-users at $495-505 per tonne cfr.
