Usiminas sees stability in Brazilian flat steel prices

Brazilian flat steel producer Usiminas expects domestic prices in the distribution sector to remain stable in the short term, chief executive officer Sergio Leite said.

“Local prices follow international values, mainly Chinese,” he told analysts during a presentation for investors on Wednesday November 22 in São Paulo.
China-origin hot-rolled coil (HRC) export prices are virtually stable at $545-550 per tonne fob, Leite added.

Metal Bulletin’s fob China HRC Index was $550.42 per tonne on Wednesday, down by $2.08 per tonne on a daily basis....
