EUROPE BEAMS: Northern European mills increase prices on lower availability

Prices for domestic steel beams in Europe rose this week as larger mills increased their offer prices due to a shortage of availability and logistical problems, market sources told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday November 22.

Metal Bulletin’s price assessment for commodity-grade, 200x200mm, category-2 H-beam made in Northern Europe rose to €595-620 ($698-728) per tonne delivered, compared with €580-615 per tonne delivered on November 15. Southern European prices narrowed to €585-615 per tonne delivered, compared with €580-615 per tonne delivered last week.
