ASIA COPPER WEEK 2017: China’s OBOR brings bright spot for copper, commodities demand

The One Belt One Road (OBOR) project, launched by China, continues to be a hot topic at Asia Copper Week and will encourage commodities demand and economic growth in industries and countries along the route.

Commodities, especially copper, look set to benefit from Chinese state-owned enterprises’ (SOEs) cooperation and investment in projects in Southeast Asia, including new high speed rail projects, as well as port development in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Xiao Fu, head of commodity markets strategy for Bank of China International Global Commodities told delegates during the 13th Asian copper conference in Shanghai....
