Union rejects Teck's Quebrada Blanca latest contract offer, threatens to strike [amended]

A group of unionized workers at Teck’s Quebrada Blanca copper mine in Chile have rejected the company’s contract offer and could go on strike if no agreement is reached after expected government-mediated talks take place.

Most workers linked to Sindicato de Trabajadores de Quebrada Blanca, which represents 24% of the mine’s total workforce, rejected the offer presented by Teck and voted in favor of industrial action, the trade union said.
