ASIA COPPER WEEK 2017: Copper concs market will not fall into same trap as zinc, lead in 2018 – execs

The global copper concentrates market is unlikely to experience the same tightened conditions in 2018 that have afflicted the zinc and lead markets this year, senior executives told delegates at Metal Bulletin’s 13th Asia Copper Conference in Shanghai, China, last week.

“In the past seven years, the production growth of copper concentrates was at a high level and is only expected to slow marginally over the next two years,” Qian Zhou, chief executive of Shanghai Chaos Investment’s base metals department said on Thursday November 30.
