EU’s new anti-dumping rules could hit Chinese steel, aluminium exports

The European Union Council of Ministers has now formally approved new EU anti-dumping rules which may help the EU impose anti-dumping duties against Chinese dumped metal exports, clearing the way for the new system to come into force by December 20.

Ministers approved a system on Monday December 4 that had been accepted by the European Parliament on November 15. The system “will identify and redress cases where prices of imported products are artificially lowered due to state intervention,” according to a council note.
