EUROPE SECTIONS: Southern EU price range narrows but mills plot fightback

Prices for domestic hollow sections in Southern Europe narrowed downward this week, with poor demand reducing the transaction prices agreed by Italian producers, sources told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday December 6.

Despite the reduction in Southern European buying prices, mills in the region are banking on better consumption levels in the first quarter of 2018. They have devised optimistic price targets for January bookings; some producers are already raising their offer prices.
