A January cargo of Chinese coke with 62% coke strength after reaction (CSR) was heard traded to Japan at $310 per tonne fob recently, compared with a traded level of $273 per tonne fob earlier last month.
Metal Bulletin’s price assessment for Chinese coke exports, with 65% CSR, 12.50% ash, and in physical sizes of 30-90mm, was $310-320 per tonne fob China on Tuesday December 5.
The assessment is up from $300-310 per tonne fob last week, and $20-25 per tonne higher than a four-month low of $285-300 per tonne fob two weeks earlier
Shipments due in the second half of January were heard offered around $330 per tonne fob. A seller even claimed to have raised his offer to $350 per tonne.
