Chinese buyers remain on sidelines of seaborne coking coal market

The seaborne coking coal market quietened down on Friday December 8, following a flurry of trades at higher prices earlier in the week.

A buyer source in India indicated that some participants had deferred their purchases “for too long and as a result, they are forced to pay the current higher prices.”
Another buyer source said that fixed-price transactions concluded by desperate buyers had pulled spot prices up by “way too much.”
