Brazil's primary aluminium exports volumes set to reach record low in 2017

Brazil’s primary aluminium export volumes are on track to reach the lowest level on record in 2017, with the two remaining local producers instead focused on sales in the domestic market.

Shipments of the unwrought metal totaled 190,712 tonnes from January to November 2017, down from 297,639 tonnes in the corresponding period of last year, according to Brazil’s foreign trade ministry, MDIC.
Now the country is set to register its lowest annual aluminium export level at least since 1989, the initial year on the ministry’s trade database.
