EV revolution a ‘disruptive force’ to the metals industry – Ivan Glasenberg

The rise of electric vehicles (EV) will be a “disruptive force” to the metals industry, with higher prices required to incentivize a supply-side response and the next generation of mine products, according to Glencore chief executive officer (CEO) Ivan Glasenberg.

“It is clear that EVs will be a disruptive force and the industry will have to be prepared to produce these commodities required for [their] development,” Glasenberg said during an investor call on Tuesday December 12.
