SOUTHERN EUROPE REBAR: Domestic prices push up on higher scrap costs

Domestic prices for rebar in Southern Europe widened upward by €10 per tonne week on week following a rise in ferrous scrap prices, sources told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday December 13.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly domestic price assessment for Southern European rebar was €500-520 ($588-611) per tonne delivered on Wednesday, compared with €500-510 per tonne delivered on December 6.
“For new orders, we expect nothing less than €530 per tonne delivered in January,” a Southern European producer source said.
