TURKEY FLAT STEEL: Some prices up, further rises expected

Some flat steel prices in Turkey increased this week - on strong demand for domestic, import and export material - and further prices rises are expected, market participants told Metal Bulletin on Friday December 22.

Demand has been strong, especially for locally produced flat steel, and producers have almost filled their order books for February 2018 production, with some already starting to accept orders for March 2018, sources said. Domestic prices Hot-rolled coil (HRC) producers in Turkey have been offering material at $600-620 per tonne ex-works for February and March 2018 production.
