US secondary aluminium alloy prices steady

Secondary aluminium alloy prices in the United States have held steady with the support of tight spot supply as well as elevated raw materials and transportation costs.

Benchmark A380.1 prices were unchanged at 97-99 cents per lb on Monday January 8, with all other alloys following the trend, according to Metal Bulletin sister publication American Metal Market's assessment.
“We are getting hit with higher freight, scrap and silicon all at one time,” one alloy supplier said.
