Non-ferrous scrap exports as a whole retreated by 13,306 short tons in November compared with the previous month but rose by 38,869 tons from November 2016, according to US Commerce Department data.
Of the seven non-ferrous scrap grades - aluminium, used beverage cans (UBCs), copper, lead, lead-acid batteries, nickel and zinc - tracked by Metal Bulletin sister title American Metal Market, aluminium, copper and UBCs were the only ones to post month-on-month declines.
