Rio Tinto sets 2018 coking coal production guidance at 7.5-8.5 mln tonnes

Rio Tinto aims to produce 7.5-8.5 million tonnes of hard coking coal output in 2018 after its output for 2017 fell 5% due to major weather-related disruptions in Australia in the earlier part of the year.

The miner produced 7.7 million tonnes of the steelmaking raw material last year, according to its latest production report released on Tuesday January 16.
