Whole lead-acid battery prices were unchanged at $42-43 per hundredweight on Tuesday January 16, according to American Metal Market’s latest assessment.
Steady LME lead contracts have helped to allay speculation that prices would dip due to adequate availability and strong consumer inventories.
“We’re still seeing batteries trade in the current price ranges. It’s the LME that’s keeping prices up there. I keep hearing that the battery flows are going to pick up in the next few weeks, but we’re not sure so we will keep on waiting,” one lead-acid battery consumer said.
