US spent lead-acid battery prices buoyed by LME

Spent lead-acid batteries and lead scrap prices in the United States maintained a steady footing, buoyed by the relative strength of the London Metal Exchange.

Whole lead-acid battery prices were unchanged at $42-43 per hundredweight on Tuesday January 16, according to American Metal Market’s latest assessment. Steady LME lead contracts have helped to allay speculation that prices would dip due to adequate availability and strong consumer inventories. “We’re still seeing batteries trade in the current price ranges.
