China’s aluminium production up 1.6% in 2017

Chinese electrolytic aluminium production totaled 32.27 million tonnes in 2017, representing an increase of 1.6% from the previous year, according to data published by the country’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Thursday January 18.

“The yearly increase has slowed, with supply-side reforms and winter capacity cuts contributing a lot to this,” according to a Shanghai-based aluminium trader.
