CHINA HRC: Domestic prices retreat amid sparse trading

The sparse trading activity in China’s domestic hot-rolled coil market failed to sustain the upward momentum for prices on Friday January 19, resulting in them retreating again after just a day of recovery.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 4,040-4,080 yuan ($629-635) per tonne, down 40-50 yuan per tonne
Northern China (Tianjin): 3,910-3,930 yuan per tonne, down 20 yuan per tonne
