Glencore copper output in Q4 2017 up 20% q-o-q; 2017 down 8%

Glencore’s copper output in the fourth-quarter 2017 was up nearly 20% from the previous quarter due to a strong performance from its African assets and Collahuasi site in Chile, though full year production was 8% lower than last year following sales and maintenance.

In the December quarter of 2017, Glencore produced 363,200 tonnes of copper, up 19.63% from the previous quarter, the company said on Thursday February 1.
The company produced 1.31 million tonnes of copper in 2017 in total, down 8% or 116,100 tonnes from a year ago.
