Ukraine approves Interpipe joint venure, EU asset sale to Vallourec

Ukrainian steel pipe producer Interpipe has received official approval for joint-venture plans with French pipemaker Vallourec.

The Anti-Monopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has announced that it will allow the vertically integrated steel pipe producer to create a joint venture with Vallourec, one of Europe’s leading seamless pipes producer, as well as to sell its Europe-based distribution assets to its new partner. “A license has been granted to the company Vallourec Tubes SAS (Boulogne-Billancourt, France), allowing it, through Vallourec Deutschland GmbH (Dusseldorf, Germany), to acquire certain assets belonging to Interpipe Ltd (Nicosia, Cyprus), which enable it to carry out business activities in the marketing and sales of seamless steel pipes in the EU,” the AMCU report...
