US secondary aluminium alloy prices step higher

Secondary aluminium alloy prices in the United States have stepped higher on a combination of steady demand plus rising raw material and transportation costs, although volatility on the London Metal Exchange could weigh on further increases.

Prices for benchmark A380.1 rose by 1 cent on the upper end of the range to $0.98-1 per lb, and both A360.1 and 356.1 similarly rose to trade at $1.06-1.08 per lb. At the same time, alloy prices for 319.1 and A413.1 stepped a penny higher, according to American Metal Market’s latest assessment.
