Indonesia's RBT tin smelter defers contract deliveries amid production issues - sources

Indonesia's Refined Bangka Tin (RBT) has deferred some contractual deliveries of refined tin to later in the year due to a fall in production while its smelters are being equipped with a new electrolytic furnace, sources told Metal Bulletin.

"I heard RBT are having production problems at their smelter probably due to the installation of the new electrolytic furnace," a tin trader said.
Monthly production has dropped from 450 metric tonnes to 350 tonnes per month and the smelter has adjusted contract sales in Asia to later in 2018 to accommodate this deficit, the trader added.
