Atlantic Copper, which is the third largest copper smelter in Europe and acts as a key outlet for copper concentrate units from mines within its owner Freeport-McMoRan’s portfolio, is set to smelt 1.1 million tonnes of copper concentrates at its Huelva smelter this year.
“We’re aiming at what would be an all-time record output,” Targhetta said ahead of the Metal Bulletin Copper Conference in Madrid, adding that the company expected 288,000-290,000 tonnes of copper cathode output this year.
