Taiwanese scrap import prices continue up on bullish sentiments

Import prices for containerized heavy melting scrap (HMS) in Taiwan increased further this week amid sustained optimism arising from the United States’ new import tariff on steel.

Metal Bulletin’s assessment of import prices for US-origin HMS 1&2 (80:20) sold into Taiwan was $365-373 per tonne cfr for the week ended Friday March 16, up $5-8 per tonne from a week earlier.
