US aluminium scrap market maintains steady footing

Secondary aluminium scrap prices in the United States generally remain steady, supported by firm demand and steady supply.

Prices for smelter-grade aluminium scrap were mostly unchanged, except for a 1-cent-per-lb drop in aluminium-copper radiators on Thursday March 15, according to American Metal Market’s latest assessment.
A slight tightness in scrap supply that was seen earlier this year has mostly subsided, according to market participants, who have reported mostly stable flows in March.
