Some US secondary aluminium prices move up

Some secondary aluminium alloy prices in the United States have increased as suppliers aggressively push for higher pricing amid sustained pressure from elevated raw material costs.

Prices for 356.1, A360.1 and A413.1 each rose by a penny on the low end of the range to $1.08-1.09 per lb on Monday March 19, 2018, while benchmark A380.1 and other secondary aluminium prices were unchanged, according to American Metal Market’s latest assessment.
“We booked pretty good volumes at higher prices for some alloys to someone who needed it. We’ll just keep quoting these higher prices, if we don’t get it that’s okay. I won’t chase sales,” one US supplier source said.
