Correction begins to weigh on US Midwest aluminum premium

The United States' Midwest aluminium premium has moved down, with the correction previously hinted at starting to manifest in the market.

American Metal Market’s latest assessment of the P1020 spot premium put it at 19-19.5 cents per lb on Friday March 23, down from 19-20 cents per lb earlier in the week. The downtick is the first one seen in the premium since November 7, when it retreated to 9.25-9.5 cents per lb from 9.25-9.55 cents per lb.
