PT Timah still to renew Indonesian export permit, no shipments since March 20

Indonesia’s PT Timah, the world’s third largest tin smelter and the largest supplier of 99.9% consumer grade tin to the physical market, has not exported tin since March 20 due to an impasse over permitting, an informed source at the company told Metal Bulletin.

"Our permit expired at the end of March meaning we have to apply for a new one and since then no exports have been made by Tiimah,” the source who declined to be named because he is not approved to talk publicly to the press, said.
