Brazilian steel association raises forecasts for 2018 consumption, sales

The Brazilian steel institute, Aço Brasil, had revised upward its forecast for the country’s steel consumption, sales and output this year, due to recovering market conditions.

“The market is rebounding in 2018, but last year’s figures represent a weak comparison basis,” president Alexandre de Campos Lyra said on Tuesday April 24. “The Brazilian market will return to 2013’s peak level only in 2028, according to optimistic estimates,” he added.
