China’s CRC, HDG export prices flat on lackluster demand

Export prices for Chinese cold-rolled coil and hot-dipped galvanized coil held firm over the past week with procurement rates remaining low and domestic prices keeping relatively steady.

Cold-rolled coil Metal Bulletin’s assessment of prices for June/July shipments of SPCC 1.0mm CRC was $610-625 per tonne fob for the week ended Tuesday May 15, unchanged from a week earlier. Several back-to-back cargoes were sold by traders in Hangzhou and Shanghai at $615-620 per tonne fob to various Southeast Asian destinations over the past week. One Vietnamese buyer was also heard to have procured CRC at $605-610 per tonne fob, but that deal price was not included in Metal Bulletin’s assessment because participants said it was most likely a position cargo held...
