CCIC Canada to inspect China-bound scrap

A bottleneck of non-ferrous scrap shipments in the United States could be somewhat alleviated as material earmarked for China now can be temporarily inspected by China's Canadian customs inspection division.

US non-ferrous scrap shipments to China can now receive pre-shipment inspections by the China National Certification and Inspection Group (CCIC) Canada division until Monday June 4.
The move essentially fills the void created after the Chinese government abruptly suspended the inspection operations of the CCIC North American division from May 4 to June 4, leaving thousands of containers in limbo.
