Italy anti-corruption probe into Ilva sale ‘could be complete by end-July’

An investigation was begun last week by Italian anti-corruption authority ANAC into the intended sale of steelmaker Ilva, a tender for which was won by a consortium led by steelmaker ArcelorMittal in June 2017.

The investigation could be completed by the end of this month, the authority said.
“The ministry of economic development has asked to verify alleged anomalies regarding the tender process,” an ANAC spokesman told Metal Bulletin on Monday July 16.
