EUROPE WIRE ROD: Prices edge up ahead of EC safeguarding duty

Domestic prices for mesh-quality wire rod produced and delivered in Northern Europe narrowed upwards on Wednesday July 18, amid supply concerns ahead of the implementation of the preliminary safeguarding measures in Europe, sources said.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly domestic price assessment for mesh-quality wire rod in Northern Europe narrowed upward by €10 per tonne to €540-550 ($632-643) per tonne delivered on July 18, up from €530-550 per tonne on July 11.
Mills were also heard offering material up to €560 per tonne delivered, market participants said.
