CHINA HRC: Prices edge up in eastern region amid declining inventory

East China’s hot-rolled coil prices rose slightly on Wednesday July 25 following gains in the futures market that was attributed to a drop in inventory levels.

Eastern China (Shanghai): 4,250-4,270 yuan ($625-628) per tonne, up 10 yuan per tonne
Northern China (Tianjin): 4,170-4,180 yuan per tonne, unchanged
Prices in Shanghai experienced a small rebound following the increases in the futures market, which was boosted by news that HRC inventory levels had fallen over the past week, a Tangshan-based trader said.
