ThyssenKrupp expects stable, high EU steel prices in H2 2018

German steelmaker ThyssenKrupp expects prices to remain “stable and high… on the commodity and material markets, with positive income effects” for its Steel Europe business over the rest of its current financial year, which will end on September 30, it said on Thursday August 9.

“The EU carbon flat steel market saw slight year-on-year growth in the first five months of 2018, with third-country imports slightly lower and moderate growth in shipments by European suppliers,” ThyssenKrupp said in its quarterly report.
