DAILY SCRAP REPORT: Mills continue to struggle as lira crashes

Turkish steel producers have continued to struggle with the weakening lira and only those mills that required scrap urgently were in the market, sources said on Friday August 10.

A steel producer in the Iskenderun region booked a European cargo, comprising 35,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $319 per tonne and 5,000 tonnes of bonus at $334 per tonne cfr, late on August 9.
