European antimony prices jump on China smuggling crackdown news

Antimony prices in Europe jumped above $8,000 per tonne on Friday August 10, an increase of 1.2% from the midweek assessment, fueled by the news that China has seized over 3,000 tonnes of smuggled antimony.

Prices for antimony with bismuth content below 100ppm in-warehouse Rotterdam climbed to $8,000-8,400 per tonne on Friday, up from $7,900-8,300 per tonne on Wednesday.
Metal Bulletin’s MMTA standard grade II antimony in-warehouse Rotterdam price also moved up to $8,000-8,400 per tonne, compared with $7,900-8,300 per tonne on Wednesday. Both antimony grades continued to trade at parity.
