RUSSIA FLAT STEEL: Mills to raise offer prices again on weak rouble

Steel mills intend to impose another increase in prices for hot-rolled (HR) and cold-rolled (CR) steel sheet in Russia’s central region around Moscow due to the weakness of the national currency, Metal Bulletin was told on Tuesday August 14.

Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) and Severstal, two of the principal suppliers to the region, have announced that, from August 16, they will increase prices for stockists by around 1,000 roubles per tonne. The current lower prices will remain in effect until then.
