EUROPE STAINLESS STEEL: Flat product base prices weaken amid low stock prices

Base prices for flat stainless steel products in Europe fall by €30 per tonne over the week ended Friday September 14, amid a stock sell-off ahead of an expected fall in the alloy surcharge for October deliveries.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly domestic base price assessment for 2mm, grade-304 cold-rolled (CR) stainless steel sheet in Northern Europe was €970-1,020 ($1,130-1,189) per tonne delivered on Friday, down from €1,000-1,050 per tonne on September 7.
