RUSSIA REBAR: Market softens on signs of weakening demand

The steel rebar market in Russia’s Central Federal District, the major steel-consuming region in the country, has started to show signs of softening on lower demand from end-users.

Metal Bulletin’s weekly assessment of the domestic price for Russian 12mm A500C rebar, including 18% VAT, narrowed downward to 42,000 roubles per tonne cpt Moscow on Monday September 24, compared with 42,000-46,000 roubles per tonne last week.
When denominated in dollars, however, the price increased to $631 per tonne from $617 per tonne a week ago because of exchange-rate fluctuations.
