ArcelorMittal to sell 4 EU assets to Liberty House as part of divestment plan

The world’s largest steelmaker ArcelorMittal is planning to sell its four European mills to international metals group Liberty House Group, ArcelorMittal said on Friday October 12.

ArcelorMittal has received a binding offer from Liberty House Group for the acquisition of its steel plant in Ostrava, Czech Republic; the Galati mill in Romania; the Skopje facility in Macedonia and the hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) steel production plant in Piombino, Italy. The four assets are part of a divestment package ArcelorMittal agreed with the European Commission (EC) during its merger control investigation into the upcoming acquisition of Italian steelmaker Ilva by ArcelorMittal.
