US structural tubing prices drop after mills try to entice orders

Prices for domestically produced structural tubing in the United States declined after mills further intensified fourth-quarter discounting to move tons out the door.

Fastmarkets AMM's pricing assessment for US domestic A500 hollow structural sections fell to a new range of $1,120-1,155 per ton ($56-57.75 per hundredweight) on Thursday October 25, from the previous range of $1,130-1,170 per ton ($56.50-58.50 per cwt) a week earlier.  Market participants reported that certain large mills were offering bargains.
