China’s CRC, HDG export market softens again on low demand, domestic losses

Export prices for Chinese cold-rolled coil and hot-dipped galvanized coil dipped for a seventh consecutive time over the past week amid lower offers, sparse buying interest and China’s weakening domestic market.

Cold-rolled coil Fastmarkets MB’s export price assessment for SPCC 1.0mm CRC for the week ended Tuesday November 6 was $570-580 per tonne fob China, narrowing downward by $5 per tonne from $570-585 per tonne fob a week earlier. Bookings from Southeast Asia were reported at around $570 per tonne fob. One transaction from that region was concluded at around $589 per tonne fob China, but market participants said the price was slightly above mainstream levels.
