US plate price steady while HRC, oil plunge

Plate prices in the United States continue to hold their ground despite falling hot-rolled coil and oil prices.

Fastmarkets AMM’s price assessment for cut-to-length plate remained at $49.50 per hundredweight ($990 per short ton) on Friday November 30, where it has been for nearly a month. Lead times are between six and nine weeks, market participants said.
