CIS PIG IRON: Market weakens on pessimistic mood

The pig iron export market in the Commonwealth of Independent States weakened during the week ended Thursday December 6 on a pessimistic mood among buyers.

Fastmarkets’ CIS export price assessment for high-manganese pig iron was $355-360 per tonne fob Black Sea on December 6, compared with $355-365 per tonne a week ago.
“There were no firm offers in the market this week. Mills were collecting bids because whatever price they say, buyers will ask $10 per tonne lower as further price declines are expected in the market,” one trader told Fastmarkets.
