RUSSIA FLAT STEEL: Market stays weak despite problems at ArcelorMittal Temirtau

The market for hot-rolled (HR) and cold-rolled (CR) steel sheet in Russia’s Central Federal District around Moscow remained weak on Monday December 17 due to seasonally low demand in the winter season.

Since November 10, there have been production problems at the largest supplier into Russia, Kazakhstan's ArcelorMittal Temirtau, after a gas pipeline explosion at the plant. But the outage there has failed to stimulate the domestic market in Russia.
Fastmarkets’ weekly price assessment for Russia-origin 4mm HR sheet remained at 39,200-40,000 roubles ($587-600) per tonne cpt Moscow on Monday December 17, including 18% VAT.

Stockists are still able to purchase HR sheet...
